How EasiYo yogurt is made
The beauty of the EasiYo process is that it takes this traditional yogurt process and removes all the tricky parts. No need to monitor the temperature of the yogurt as it sets!
It’s an easy three-step process:
- Mix the Easiyo sachet with tepid water
- Shake well and place into the EasiYo yogurt maker with boiling water
- Seal and leave for 8-12 hours (or overnight) for natural fermentation process

What’s in the sachet?
EasiYo sachets have all the ingredients you need, in the right quantities to create a fresh, pure yogurt full of live cultures, right at home.
The EasiYo sachet contains a secret blend of yogurt-making ingredients such as milk powder, high quality live bacteria cultures, natural flavour and colour extracts and sometimes a little sugar – all the same simple ingredients you’d have seen in any yogurt-maker’s kitchen for thousands of years.
Our milk powder is made from high quality cow’s milk and dry blended with the other ingredients, including the lactic cultures, under strict hygiene conditions to produce a premium yogurt powder.
The live lactic cultures are what activates the fermentation process once the product is placed in the EasiYo Yogurt maker.

The EasiYo Yogurt Maker is manufactured in New Zealand, is non-electric, and has been developed using high quality food-safe plastic.
The design is based on a specific heat profile to enhance the fermentation process and create a high-quality set yogurt.

What is Yogurt, anyway?
Everyone knows how tasty yogurt is – and if it’s fresh and natural, it can be really good for you. But have you ever wondered what it’s actually made of?
Well, yogurt in its simplest terms is a custard-like food made from curdled milk, with a tart taste which is then often sweetened or flavoured.
Getting down to the nitty-gritty – the milk is curdled by bacteria (or live cultures). Scientists describe yogurt as a fermented milk product. The fermentation occurs when bacteria (also known as live lactic cultures) convert lactose (the natural sugar in milk) into lactic acid. This thickens the milk to a custard-like texture and gives it that distinctively tart, acidic flavour.
Texture can be affected by a number of things, like the fats and proteins, types of live cultures and type of sweeteners used. Yogurt comes three ways: set, stirred or drinking yogurt. EasiYo is a set yogurt, making it ideal to put on your cereal or eat as a tasty snack!
